A resident of DeSoto County, David is a landscape architect with a local engineering firm in Memphis. He is an active user of Wolf River Greenway, trails around Arkabutla Lake, and trails around Herb Parsons Lake. David is an active user of outdoor spaces because he believes it is important to maintain health and fitness.

Jim

WREG News Channel 3’s Jim Jaggers has been a meterologist forecasting weather for the Mid-South on television and radio since 1978. Every year, rides his bicycle over 300 miles to raise money for LeBonheur Children’s Hospital through his “Go Jim Go!” campaign. In addition to biking to work, Jim uses the Shelby Farms Greenline to train for Go Jim Go!

Karina

Originally from Mexico, Karina has lived in Memphis for the last eleven years. Karina enjoys running and biking along the Shelby Farms Greenline. In the summer, she and her three children ride the Greenline from Graham to Shelby Farms Park to use the Shelby Farms playground. She enjoys getting outdoors to enjoy time with family and to enjoy the sounds and experience of nature.

Pat

Pat is a retired teacher, garden leader for St. Augustine Parkway Community Garden in Memphis, and active with the South Memphis Farmers Market. Though she grew up on a farm, she only recently began gardening. Pat enjoys bringing awareness of food, encouraging people to eat healthier, and helping make a difference in people’s lives.

Reginald

Reginald is chief of staff for Shelby County Schools and his wife Sonya is an assistant principal at an elementary school. The couple has twin one-year-old girls and are regular users of Shelby Farms Park and playground.

Sylvia

After living in different parts of the country, Sylvia moved to Memphis two years ago. She and her husband have two young children, and have committed to being a one-car household. Sylvia volunteers to help teach people about biking safety and serves as Executive Director for Revolutions Bicycle Cooperative. She also started Wee Ride Memphis for parents and children to take group bike rides together.

Tara

Tara is a beauty salon owner, born and raised in Memphis. She is an organizer of the Sisters in Motionrunning group: a group of women who run together throughout the week. Through Sisters in Motion, Tara helps hold an annual 5K run in Overton Park and also enjoys running in Shelby Farms Park and on the Greenline.

The Sorrells

Residents of Marion, Arkansas, the Sorrells first met in college at University of Arkansas. He was one of the only students on campus with a bicycle. At first he biked for fun, but then realized the tremendous health benefits. She has always been an avid runner and started biking to spend more time with him. They enjoy biking through Marion, Meeman Shelby Forest State Park, and are excited for the opening of the Big River Crossing!

Tiffany

Tiffany is an instructional designer in Memphis. She enjoys biking to work or just going for a short ride or walk through her neighborhood. Tiffany has taken advantage of the growing opportunities in Memphis and the Mid-South to get around town without a car, such as a trip to Overton Square.
